[Description]

Orion CARBEX Class A or bush fire foam concentrate has been developed to provide excellent wetting of wood, bark and other carbonaceous materials. CARBEX produces a tough, long lasting foam that will cling to vertical tree trunks and branches and penetrates deeply into the bark to extinguish deep seated hot spots.

CARBEX will wet grass, leaves and bark providing more rapid extinguishment and using approximately half the water required if plain water is used. Field tests also show that re-ignition is less likely if CARBEX is used.

[Corrosion]

Corrosion tests show that CARBEX is no more corrosive than products which meet the NFPA requirements when tested on aluminium and magnesium alloys

[Environment]

CARBEX is biodegradable and has low toxicity. Hitron contains no phosphates, is free from ethylene glycol solvents and fluorochemicals. Environmental effects of CARBEX are similar to hair shampoos and when used as recommended CARBEX will not kill vegetation. Fish toxicity tests show that CARBEX satisfies NFPA guidelines.

[Storage]

When stored in sealed containers, it will remain useable for up to 10 years.

[Recommended Usage]

CARBEX bush fire foam is designed to be used at a concentration of 0.4 - 0.6 percent in water to produce reasonable foam. If CARBEX is to be used with sea water a minimum concentration of 0.5 percent is recommended. For use as a wetting agent it can be mixed at 0.1 - 0.3 percent in water.
