The Orion range of line proportioners includes two standard 40mm portable line proportioners for use with standard 225 lpm and 450 lpm foam nozzles. These models are our HPR-20 and HPR-40 units. Both units are available with variable metering devices or fixed at one foam induction rate. The ORION HPR Series line proportioners are manufactured in bronze as standard. Aluminium versions are an option.

[40mm Portable Line Proportioner]

There are two standard sizes, the HPR-20 for use with our FF-230 foam branchpipes and the HPR-40 for use with our FF-450 foam branchpipes. The proportioners are available with optional bases and handles for portable use and optional metering units.

For the PR-20 and PR-40 line proportioners variable proportioning is achieved by using a metering unit which allows a range of proportioning rates to be selected, or the units may be made with a preset proportioning rate. These proportioners include a check valve in the foam concentrate line.

[65mm line proportioner]

When ordering line proportioners it is necessary to specify the nozzle they will be used with and operating pressure at the proportioner. All line proportioners are designed for a minimum pressure differential of 35% (minimum) of the inlet pressure between the inlet and outlet.

Variable proportioning rate models are fitted with metering devices with 0, 1% 3% and 6% metering rates as standard. Models for use with Alcohol type AFFF are also available.

Line proportioners require a minimum pressure differential between the inlet and outlet of 35% of the inlet pressure to operate correctly. To make sure that this requirement is realised in operation line proportioners must be operated together with matched nozzles and with no more than the above length of suitable diameter hose (or larger diameter hose). The nozzle should not be elevated more than 1.5M above the proportioner.
